October 3, 2011: Phyterra Yeast Inc. reports recent activity to its commitment to expanding its research and development (R&D) facilities in PEI.
April 26, 2011: Phyterra Yeast's H2S-preventing wine yeast sales are expected to expand by up to 350% in the second year of commercial sales to U.S. wineries after excellent first-year sales to more than 75 U.S. wineries. Sales efforts are being expanded in 2011 to winery markets in Europe and South America.
March 29, 2011: Phyterra enters into a non-exclusive collaboration agreement with an undisclosed, leading multinational company to evaluate Phyterra's proprietary Acryleastâ„¢ acrylamide-preventing yeasts in one of several applicable sectors of food-related products.
March 15, 2011: Phyterra is awarded a $2.5-million grant from the Government of Canada to support a fast-track project to develop and commercialize the application of its proprietary acrylamide-preventing yeast technology within the processed potato industry.
February 20, 2011: The U.S. FDA issued a "no questions" letter acknowledging GRAS status of Phyterra's H2S-preventing wine yeast for the fermentation of alcoholic beverages, including red and white wine, champagne, sherry, sake and other rice wines, and beer.
